Visual Arts The VA office is in the Morris Marine Building.
New personnel should stop by here for ID cards.
- Equipment
used for enhancing presentations as well as documenting projects can
be borrowed from the Visual Arts department by students, staff or faculty.
- Two image projectors are available for movie
or computer presentations and will work with either a PC or MAC. (There
is a portable PC that may be be used with this system if needed.) The
lecture hall is now equipped with a permanent projection system that
will handle a MAC, PC or VCR. Please contact Kim
Holliday (ext. 8399) to reserve either of these. The AREL lecture hall also has a computer with image projection system available that is separate from the IVN system.
- There are three high resolution digital cameras
available for student or faculty use. Images captured are downloaded
to your PC. There are also three dgital camcorders available for recording
action clips. Contact Anne Willey (ext. 8283) to check
out either of these cameras.
- An HP 5500 wide format printer is available
for generating posters. Assorted media may be used up to 60" in
width. File formats accepted are Microsoft Power Point, Adobe
Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe PDF and Corel Draw (version 11). Please contact Anne
Willey ( ext. 8283) for further information.
To print posters only: $8.00 sq ft plus $25 service fee.
To laminate without foam core: $7.00 sq ft (in addition to printing)
To laminate with foam core: $8.50 sq ft (in addition to printing)
- Slide projectors, overhead transparency projectors
and VCRs are stored in the AV room in the lecture hall. Kim
Holliday, at the reception desk, can lend you a key to this room
to use these items. Extra bulbs for the projectors are in the
file cabinet in this room. If you have any problems with them, contact
Anne Willey (ext. 8283)
- There
is a "scanning station" set up in the Visual Arts office.
A high quality flatbed scanner and slide scanner are available
for general use.
