Interactive Video Network (IVN)

The University of Maryland Academic Telecommunications System
(UMATS) provides internet, library, and interactive video services to all University System of Maryland institutions (USM).  A system-wide Interactive Video Network (IVN) was initiated in 1992. This televideo network enables teaching classes on other campuses and carrying on real-time discussions. IVN has added a great deal of flexibility to broadening the availability of coursework to more students and has become a valuable way of linking faculty and students throughout the University System of Maryland.
