The Surface Heat Budget of the Arctic Ocean program (SHEBA) is a coordinated project to investigate the role of arctic climate in global change. The primary goals of SHEBA are:
SHEBA is an eight-year project (1995-2002) with three phases:
Phase I, 1995-96. Analysis of existing data and models, development of
technology.
Phase II, 1997-99. SHEBA Field Experiment and initial data analysis.
Phase III, 2000-02. Modeling and in-depth analysis of processes and
feedback mechanisms.
