He is interested in numerical modeling of coastal and estuarine processes. Dr. Zhong is a firm believer in the Linux operating system and runs all his models on Linux machines.

Research areas:

Coastal and estuarine physical oceanography, numerical modeling and biological/physical interactions.

Projects:
  1. Development of a community model for the Chesapeake Bay.
  2. The circulation in the northern South China Sea.

Selected publications:

Hsueh, Y. and L. Zhong, A note on the deflection of a baroclinic current by a continental shelf, submitted to Geophysical and Astrophysical Fluid Dynamics.
